Stores and restaurants on site. Scavenger hunts, crafts and inflatables keep kids entertained. If you don't have kids and want a quieter site, choose one away from the Kid Zone. A movie started at 8p. Maintenance people are always around and busy taking care of things. The Kid Zone is a lot of fun for kids with many activities.
Traffic on the mud street in front of us was unbelievable. You can now follow my Pinterest Board to get all of my posts! We had a premium spot so up front and concrete patio and swing and fire pit and grill. Unfortunately, being that close to the main building we got to experience lots of traffic, everyone checking into the campground had to drive past our site along with all the delivery tr. Keep that in mind and kindly ask them to verify your food order as something might get lost in translation. There are non-stop activities for kids with the last activity scheduled for 9:45p. Two pools, one adult only. The host even took the time to tell me about area attractions that I might have missed.
On my last day, another camper came in next to me and had problems with the power and didn't like the site and demanded to be moved. Later that day another family was there trying to set up and said that they had reserved months in advance and had a different site reserved, but received this one and was told there was no record of their original reservation. You can unwind after a long day in one of our two heated pools or one of our hot tubs. There were multiple food options including a pizza joint and ice cream parlor, a steakhouse, a cafe and wine bar, and a well-stocked camp store. Attend one of the on-site rodeos during the summer palmergulch.
Stay in a hotel suite, Mountain Cabin or an executive lodge at the first-class Mount Rushmore Lodge. There was no cell phone coverage at all in the campground. You can reserve Old Palmer Hall or our covered picnic shelter for group gatherings. But it was not open for a few more days. Stay for a least a week.
I found them to be friendly, professional, and hard-working. The staff did a good job of addressing our concerns and offered us the option of moving a few spaces down on the same row which we did. If you just want to have a couple drinks and not worry about driving anywhere, the Palmer Gulch Resort has a fully stocked bar with local brewery beers, called the Tap Room, located downstairs from the Peak Grill. Rushmore, Crazy horse, hill city, keystone, Custer park, etc. Some of them were pretty close together, though.
It would be so easy to put in a small pipe in the ditch, cover it, add gravel and make this site longer. Be sure to schedule a ride for a memorable experience. I really laugh when people are complaining about wi-fi. Rental guy was good about providing directions and advising on points of interest. It was roomy and had a nice shade tree, but it was cloudy and rainy the whole time we were there. It was anything but relaxing. You're in a gulch so the air seemed stagnant, there is no cell reception at all had to drive a few miles for that.
The other one took nearly two hours to dry one small load. There is a general store and gift shop which features South Dakota Made Products. My site was a back-in close to the kids play area, but the noise was never too bad. A nicely paved bike path winds its way throughout the resort. Mt Rushmore is just down the road.
. The beer was cold and the steak, excellent! We're continuing to improve our Campground Owner Management system and more enhancements are coming soon. My site was very large with a lot of grass on both sides and behind. Overall the facilities are well maintained and clean. It was obvious to me that the amenities, the activities, and the general flow of this resort is based upon decades of experience pleasing customers. We had pizza and ice cream at the little store which was good. Hauling a brief case and mobile printer several miles up the road to find a stronger cell signal is unacceptable.
Come on in and select the perfect campsite for your Black Hills vacation with us. These activities are offered from Memorial Day to Labor Day. But no employee could see this huge safety violation. Get a visitor guide before you go! Even a 100 horse riding stable, and those horses were beautiful and obviously well cared for. It was well after Labor Day and a lot of spots were closing for the season.
